O1B Visa for Extraordinary Ability in Arts
What does this mean?
I hold an O1 Visa for Extraordinary Ability in Arts. This means I am LEGALLY ALLOWED TO WORK in the United States and I do NOT need an employer to sponsor me.
USCIS defines this visa as “The O-1 nonimmigrant visa is for the individual who possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or who has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements. O-1B: Individuals with an extraordinary ability in the arts or extraordinary achievement in motion picture or television industry.”
I do not need an employer to sponsor a working visa for me. I have a U.S. agent who takes the role of my petitioner. This allows me to work freelance without an employer taking on the responsibility of sponsoring my visa.
You can learn more about O1 Visas on the USCIS website.
